We began writing the book on beverage flavor and product creation in 1880 and tens of thousands of flavors later we’re still going strong. The fact is that well over three-fourths of our creative work is beverage-focused—from fruit and energy drinks to juice-based drinks, wine and wine coolers, cocktail mixes, cordials, liquors and beverage syrups. One of those syrups – a mixture of sugar, citric acid and natural lime oils—formed the basis for Green River, the highly popular Prohibition-era carbonated soft drink. And for decades after the repeal of Prohibition, the soda fountain syrup version of Green River maintained a loyal following, second only to Coca Cola in terms of popularity.
We also work with flavored coffees and teas, slush and frozen cocktails and carbonated drinks. In addition, we’re highly experienced and uniquely qualified in the development of beverage clouding agents and specialty emulsions.
Our international focus on beverage flavor innovation over the last 60-plus years has proven invaluable to our ever-expanding global customer base. That’s because our continued involvement with international customers has allowed us to develop a deep appreciation for and understanding of regional taste preferences and their influence on beverage flavors native to a specific locality. This kind of industry knowledge and unique insight are key reasons we are renowned worldwide for flavor creativity and quality. And because we’re always on top of knowing everything there is to know about emerging flavor trends anywhere in the world, we’re positioned perfectly to share this knowledge exclusively with customers who embrace the value of our growing international beverage flavor library.
